Lock and Company Ward. The Moray coast. The coast of northeast Scotland from Aberdeen to Inverness has a rugged, sometimes bleak fringe with pleasant if undramatic farmland rolling inland. Still, if the weather is good, it’s well worth spending a couple of days meandering through the various little fishing villages and along the miles of deserted, unspoilt beaches.

The route, a mile-long circular trail which was launched incan be joined at three main points – Ballindalloch, Aberdeen Airport and Glenshee – and winds across Speyside, Royal Deeside, Aberdeen, Cairngorms, the east coast and the Moray Firth coast. 1 day ago  Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) helped transport an injured hillwalker from an Aberdeenshire summit to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in just 10.

End the day at atmospheric Dunottar Castle. After an overnight stay in Stonehaven head northwards to visit stunning Pitmedden Gardens and enjoy a scenic tour along the Moray Firth coast. Inland be stirred by the mountainous and river views along the 41mile-long Deeside Way (you can walk or cycle it), running from the centre of Aberdeen to Ballater in the Cairngorms National Park.

Stride out along the wide expansive sands that stretch for miles along the Aberdeenshire coast and walk through some of the most picturesque coastal. This epic mile road trip takes you through the Cairngorms National Park to Royal Deeside, through the city of Aberdeen, and up Scotland’s east coast to the Moray Firth and Speyside around the spectacular edge of Aberdeenshire.

I recommend driving the North East over a 4 day trip. Love beaches and coastal walks. Local government functions were shared between the two levels. Inunder the Local Government etc (Scotland) Actthe Banff and Buchan district, Gordon district and Kincardine and Deeside district were merged to form the present Aberdeenshire council area.

Moray and the City of Aberdeen were made their own council areas. Situated on the Moray Firth coast, The Yardie is a conservation area within the town of Buckie on Scotland's 'sunniest north east coast'. Moray is known as the Scottish Riviera as it gets very little rain and this part of the coast has a warmer and gentler climate than most other parts of Scotland.
